Wrong standards will produce wrong results. The Corinthian foolishness was that they allowed man-made standards to evaluate spiritual truth and spiritual leaders. Paul had every right to be considered Corinth’s true apostle. But these were the wrong standards. Here, Paul made sure this boasting would not be misinterpreted. He now makes sure the Corinthians and all who read this letter do not use the wrong standard and stand on the wrong foundation. The only foundation for right action and love is living before God in Christ!
