Peacemaker and Providence (1 Samuel 19:1-10)

While the natural man in Adam rages against God and His anointed – the Spirit provides peacemakers, picturing Christ (in the OT they are paving the way for Christ) till the Christ Himself appears and is at once the grand peacemaker and the great Warrior God. This salvation drama is most clearly seen in What Vos calls, “Redemptive High Water Marks” and David is certainly one of the greatest OT high water marks – but the drama will play out in every child of God. Providence will thrust us into the conflict of the seed of the woman and the serpent and when it does we may find protection in unlikely places! Just as David.
