Otherworldly Impact (1 Corinthians 7:17-40)

Christians are not so Heavenly minded that they are of NO earthly good. On the contrary, because of their heavenly mindedness, they are of the MOST earthly good and they are able to thrive in any condition. They can abase and abound and be triumphant in both conditions! This truth is what Paul is applying to the context of Marriage in Chapter 7 – so he shows that even in the case of mixed marriages (I mean believer with unbeliever) when the wife becomes a Christian – she becomes a better wife! And likewise the Husband! This extends to every kind of relationship among men. What Paul is teaching us gets at the heart of How Christianity impacts culture and life and teaches us that Christianity leavens society rather than leveling it!
