In our passage Luke gives us his narrative of surprising conversions. These conversions stories are vital for us to hear together, because we are prone to put God in a box. To think “This is how God works because its how he worked in so-and-so’s life” and when we put God in a box we stop trusting Him! You see it is not our circumstances or backgrounds that give us hope (as helpful as they may be, and we do not deny that God uses means) but it is the power of Christ’s life in us.
