More than Conquerors (2 Samuel 10:1-19)

This section prepares for David’s adultery with Bathsheba by giving us the historical context in which that sin took place. Remember, the most mature and experienced Christian acts foolishly the moment he is left to himself. Our source of sufficiency is all treasured up in Christ. As soon as communion with Him is broken as soon as we cease looking to Him for strength we are helpless!” Chapter 10 is a mirror for us in this way, and also a sign of things to come for David.
