Struck Down but Not Destroyed (Acts 27:39-28:10)

Sometimes the claims of Christianity sound to good to be true. Especially to outsiders, but even we can wonder – or doubt – Is God really so involved, so caring, so faithful that he never leaves or abandons us? More importantly me? Is the promise to Joshua and promise to me? We asks these kinds of questions in our hearts because of the reality of our lives – filled with struggle and pain, and sometimes worse, boredom! Acts finishes in such a great way to answer those questions. Two main themes run through chapter 28 and the first main theme is of God’s faithfulness to Paul; the other main theme is that of Paul’s faithfulness to God! Ever since Paul appealed to Caesar the text has been trumpeting the triumph of God through all kinds of circumstance repeatedly showing that no impediment will hinder the Word of God!
